Tool thief arrested

On August 17, 2024, Sunshine Coast RCMP were advised that a male had just stolen approximately $1000 worth of tools from a building supply store in Gibsons BC.

Police attended and reviewed surveillance video which showed the suspect exit the store with tools without attempting to pay for them. Investigation determined the same suspect is believed to have stolen tools from building supply store in Sechelt earlier that day. A short time later the Gibsons store alerted police that the suspect had returned. The suspect fled prior to police arrival but was located and arrested in possession of a quantity of stolen tools. Charges of theft are being recommended to Crown Counsel.
