RCMP looking for witnesses after pedestrian hit

Sunshine Coast RCMP are looking for any witnesses to an incident where a pedestrian was struck by a white pick up truck in the intersection at Cowrie and Trail Avenue in Sechelt.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 am on Friday August 11th in downtown Sechelt. The 82 year old female was crossing the street in the marked crosswalk as the truck was turning from Trail onto Cowrie Street. The female was transported to Sechelt Hospital with serious injuries.  The truck driver remained on scene and cooperated fully with the police investigation. Alcohol or drug impairment was not a factor in the incident.
