Impaired Driving
On July 28, witnesses reported a vehicle had crashed into bushes in the 5000 block of Davis Bay Rd, Sechelt. Police gave a roadside alcohol screening test. After two failed results, the driver was issued a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for thirty days. This matter has been referred to RoadSafetyBC.
On July 29, witness reported a vehicle had screped a median in the 4600 block of Sunshine Coast Hwy, Sechelt. Police gave a roadside alcohol screening test. After refusing to provide a sample, the driver was issued a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for thirty days. This matter has been referred to RoadSafetyBC.
Fraud
On July 27, a coast resident reported falling victim to a scam after giving $15,000 to a website claims to invest on behalf of an individual. The resident is unlikely to recover the monies. Theft of Licence Plate
Between July 27 and late 28, a suspect stole a rear licence plate from a vehicle in the 9000 block of Ionian Rd, Halfmoon Bay. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the RCMP and reference police file #2022-5138.
