Maple Ridge, B.C. – Ridge Meadows RCMP have arrested two men and a woman as a result of an active assault investigation.

At around 3:00 PM, on July 26, police received multiple 911 calls where initial reports stated an active robbery was occurring in the 22700 block area of 119th Avenue prompting a large police response. Upon arrival police determined that no robbery occurred however a 43-year-old woman had been assaulted and a man was subsequently arrested at the scene.  The woman and the man are known to each other.

Concurrently, during the course of the investigation, and as police were tending to the victim, a by-standing woman and man continually approached police, yelled at police and were interfering with the investigation. The two bystanders were repeatedly asked to not interfere and, after multiple police warnings, a 19 year old woman was arrested for obstruction and causing a disturbance and a 21 year old man was arrested for obstruction. The 19 year old woman was combative and uncooperative during the arrest.

The investigation is ongoing and no other details are available at this time.
