File # 2022-6417

Maple Ridge, B.C. – Ridge Meadows RCMP have arrested one man in a targeted break and enter incident.

On Monday, April 11, at around 1:00 PM police received a 911 call from a resident in the 11200 block area of Harrison Street. The caller alleged that two suspects had entered a house while the occupants were home and that one of the suspects allegedly had a gun. The suspects then fled on foot.

Police flooded the area and the RCMP’s Integrated Police Dog Services also attended subsequently leading to a successful track and arrest of a suspect on Glenhurst Street. The man remains in police custody.

Calls of this nature are taken very seriously which is why the public saw such a large police response and nearby schools enacted a ‘hold and secure’ in response to this incident, states Corporal Julie Klaussner. A large police presence can be unnerving for our citizens but it’s always best to respond appropriately and scale back when safe to do so. The investigation has revealed that this was an isolated incident and is not random.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
