Large police presence at Volker Park

Maple Ridge, B.C. – Ridge Meadows RCMP have arrested a man after locating him at Volker Park.
On Monday, April 4, at around 8:40 AM, police received a call about a man with a weapon in the 122 avenue and 216 street area.
Due to the nature of the call, and the fact there was a nearby school, multiple police officers flooded the area in response. Subsequently a man holding a knife was found sitting on a bench in Volker park. He was arrested peacefully and without incident.
Out of an abundance of caution, School District 42 enacted a hold and secure
which lasted approximately 30 minutes.
This incident is isolated to a house in the area and no further details will be released.
