Project Blitz continues and nets seven more arrests

Maple Ridge B.C – Ridge Meadows RCMP is continuing their focused attention on targeting retail theft.

In March and October of 2021, the Ridge Meadows RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) launched Project Blitz in response to increased calls for police service relating to shoplifting. The project provides support to local retailers and loss prevention officers and this week, police arrested seven more people.

The results of this week’s Project Blitz are:

Police continue to receive calls from businesses in the downtown core and we are here for them, states Corporal Tana Goode with the Crime Reduction Unit . We empathize with these businesses and we will continue to heighten the observation, identification and apprehension of these prolific offenders.

No names are being released as charge approvals are awaiting B.C. Provincial Court processes.

Project Blitz continues throughout Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge.
