Assault at Golden Ears Provincial Park

Maple Ridge, B.C – Ridge Meadows RCMP is appealing to the public for dash-cam footage and further witnesses relating to an assault occurring yesterday at the North Beach campground in Golden Ears Provincial park.

On Wednesday, June 9th, at around 5:45 PM, police were alerted to an altercation which had occurred in the park. A man and his family became engaged in a verbal argument with a group of five men at a nearby campsite. The incident escalated and became physical resulting in a twenty-three-year-old man being stabbed twice. The five suspect men quickly fled the scene. The victim received treatment at hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The five suspect men were not registered campers and it is believed they were using the camp site to eat and drink.

Police are looking for anyone with dash cam footage from around the time of the incident or the hours leading up to the incident, in and around the Golden Ears Park area or in the nearby community.
