Charges laid in sophisticated identification forgery lab in Richmond

On December 22, 2022, Richmond RCMP Economic Crime Unit (ECU) and Drug Target Team executed a search warrant at a residence of a suspected forgery lab. Upon entering, officers discovered evidence consistent with a sophisticated forged identification lab.

Through coordinated efforts between Richmond RCMP ECU and Drug Target Team, on May 3, 2024, a number of Criminal Code charges were approved against Ameer Ayube, including:

A warrant is outstanding for Mr. Ayube’s arrest on these charges.

This investigation exemplifies the success achieved when the public reports incidents of fraud to the police. This successful investigation by Richmond RCMP underscored our commitment to combating fraud in our community. We urge all victims of fraud to come forward and report any incidents.
