September signals the beginning of autumn but more importantly, rings in the start of a new school year. Students of all ages will be walking, riding their bikes, skate boards, or scooters. Many may be traveling by school bus, transit, or other vehicle. This is also the time to contemplate additional safety, patience, and to exercise sound judgement from everyone in the community.

We urge everyone to:
- Cross in designated crosswalks make eye contact with any drivers before crossing the street. Remove headphones or earbuds while crossing to better hear your surroundings.
- Pay careful attention to buses or other vehicles that are picking students up or dropping them off
- Be aware of the posted speed limits within school zones from 8am to 5pm during school days.
- Refrain from using electronic devices while driving or any other behavior that could distract you from driving safely
May you all have a safe and successful school year!
