Just after midnight on August 29, Mission RCMP were notified that a vehicle was stopped in the middle of the westbound lane of Lougheed Highway near Lawrence Lane in the Hatzic area. An officer responded and located the vehicle, a black Toyota Camry, with the driver seemingly passed out inside. The officer was eventually able to rouse the driver, and noted a strong odour of liquor on his breath, and a nearly-empty bottle of liquor on the passenger seat. The 28-year-old male driver from the United States was arrested for impaired driving, and provided breath samples well-over twice the legal limit. He received a driving prohibition, and criminal charges are being recommended.
Mid-morning on August 30, multiple witnesses called police after an older motorhome with mis-matched license plates ran into two parked cars on 1st Avenue, then kept driving, scraped the side of a building, and crashed into a pole on North Railway Avenue. The 50-year-old female driver from Mission was determined to be a prohibited driver, and showed symptoms of impaired driving. She was taken to hospital for assessment, then she was arrested after refusing to provide a breath sample. The motorhome was impounded, and criminal charges are being recommended.

9 vehicles on Blott Street (near 7th and Hurd Street) had their tires slashed overnight on August 31 – September 1. No suspects have yet been identified. Anyone in the area who saw anything suspicious that night, or who has CCTV footage of the mischief occurring is asked to contact Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161.
At around 3 am on September 4, the Mission Fire and Rescue Service requested that RCMP attend a business on London Avenue. The fire department had attended after receiving an alarm, but upon arrival they saw three persons acting suspiciously on the roof of the building. A large burst pipe was also found to be pouring water out inside the building. Two of the people fled prior to police arrival, but officers located and detained the third male. The suspect was subsequently arrested after being found to be in possession of various break-and-enter tools. After further investigation, officers determined that the male was actually from El Salvador, and allegedly crossed into Canada illegally. The man was taken into custody, and transferred to the Canada Border Services Agency the following day, to be held for an immigration hearing.
