File # 2022-10779

Shortly before 7 pm on September 12, Mission RCMP were called to a fast food restaurant on London Avenue in Mission, after an injured man came in and asked staff for help.  RCMP, the Mission Fire Department, and paramedics attended and located a 37-year-old with a serious stab wound to his chest.   The male - who is homeless and a resident of Mission - was rushed to hospital by an air ambulance.  He is expected to survive.

The victim suffered a very serious and potentially life-threatening injury, and the motive for the attack remains unknown, says Constable Harrison Mohr with Mission RCMP.   We have, however, identified the suspect, and we can confirm that this was a targeted incident, and there is no indication that the public is at risk.

Police are still in the process of trying to locate the suspect.   He has not yet been formally charged, and as such, his identity is not being released at this time.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Mission RCMP at 604-820-7161, or Crimestoppers, at 1-800-222-TIPS.
