In response to a Fentanyl overdose death in Langley, an investigation into the trafficking of fentanyl in the downtown core took place throughout the month of October.
The Langley RCMP Drug Section investigation culminated in the execution of a CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) search warrant at a residence in the 21600 block of 56th Avenue Langley. The warrant was executed by Langley Drug Section and Strike Force on October 28th.
Officers seized a green rock-like substance believed to be fentanyl in such a quantity that would indicate trafficking, another substance believed to be methamphetamine, approximately $22,000 in cash, weapons, and stolen property. A 47-year-old male from Langley was arrested and the circumstances will be provided to the BC Prosecution Service for their consideration of Charges.
The fentanyl seized in this investigation represents upwards of 7000 lethal doses.
