Charge of Manslaughter in the 2019 death of Carson Crimeni

2021-09-16 13:43 PDT

File # 2019-27965

Two years after the death of Carson Crimeni, a charge of Manslaughter has been laid against a 20-year-old man. A warrant for his arrest was issued by the BC Provincial Court.

The circumstances surrounding the 14-year-old’s death on August 7th, 2019 were a shock to the community of Langley, particularly the residents of Walnut Grove. Investigators interviewed over 100 witnesses and received over 100 tips which culminated in a presentation of evidence to the BC Prosecution Service.

The accused, who can’t be named due to his being a youth at the time of Carson’s death, surrendered himself to police after being advised of the warrant. A publication ban further limits the amount of information that can be released. He has been released from custody on bail and will appear in Court on October 20th.

Superintendent Adrian Marsden, Officer in Charge, Langley Detachment, This investigation required a tremendous amount of co-ordinated effort by our investigators and several partners that has resulted in charge approval. Langley RCMP is greatly appreciative of the support and assistance received from the many partners that were involved in advancing the investigation to recommending charges. It is my hope these charges bring a small measure of closure to the friends and family of Carson.
