Pedestrian collision on 200th Street

Langley

2021-06-01 15:21 PDT

File # 2021-18154

Motorists are being asked to consider an alternate route for travel and avoid 200th Street between the 7200 and 8000 blocks.

At approximately 2:50 p.m. a young girl was struck by a southbound car in the 7600 block of 200 Street. She has suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries and will be transported to hospital for treatment.

Witnesses report the young girl ‘jay walked’ and ran across the northbound lanes of 200th Street. Unfortunately, she didn’t have the same luck in the southbound lanes. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is co-operative with investigators.

Currently the southbound lanes of 200 Street are closed from 80th Avenue. There are two lanes open northbound from 72nd to 76th Avenue where it narrows to one lane. Traffic is moving very slowly so an alternate route is recommended.

Anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to police is asked to call Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.
