Pair arrested afer mail theft

Early this morning Langley RCMP received a report of theft of mail in progress in the 3600 block of 264th Street. The suspects were reported to have broken into multiple mailboxes.

Officers attended the area in search of a white Jeep Wrangler with a black top as indicated in the initial report. They were able to locate a matching vehicle a short time later and found it to have stolen license plates. The occupants of the vehicle were known to police and instructed to exit the vehicle.

Pieces of mail could be seen scattered in the Jeep. Both the female driver and male passenger were arrested for Possession of Stolen Property.

The driver, a 26-year-old Langley female was found to be in breach of a Probation Order where she was subject to a driving curfew. The passenger, a 19-year-old male, also from Langley, was in breach of his Probation Order where he is subject to a curfew.

Both have been held in custody and will appear in court later today in regards to the breaches. The investigation into the Theft / Possession of Mail is ongoing.
