A large police presence was visible at a Sahali coffee shop this morning, where a man allegedly dropped what appeared to be a handgun.

On July 10, 2024, around 7 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers attended the 900-block of Columbia Street West in response to the report. As part of the investigation, three suspects were identified and located shortly after.

One of the men, who was known to police, was located in possession of a pellet gun, knife, and more than 170 grams of suspected illegal drugs, which were seized, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.

The suspect was lodged in cells. Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-21821.
