Suspect and vehicle images related to last week’s North Shore shooting are being released to the public with an appeal for more information.

The images were obtained as part of an investigation that has been ongoing since Wednesday July 3, 2024, when Kamloops RCMP officers responded to a report of a person being shot on the 100-block of Tranquille Road. Police arrived to find a vehicle in the river and a 40-year-old man, known to police, with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

We are interested in hearing from anyone who saw either of the two male suspects described, or the Grey Audi SQ5 at any time on July 3, said Sergeant Kevin McIntyre of the Kamloops RCMP Detachment’s Targeted Enforcement Unit. This shooting happened in a public area, at a time of day when numerous innocent bystanders were present. We are hopeful that someone has information to help further this and other recent investigations believed to be part of the ongoing conflict between local drug traffickers.

The male suspects are described as wearing the following:

Suspect One

Suspect Two

Vehicle description:

A grey Audi SQ5.

In May, the Kamloops RCMP Detachment issued a warning related to the conflict between local drug traffickers, following an uptick in violence and concerns about the increased risk to public safety.

As we work to further progress this and other related investigations, we continue to deploy resources and utilize additional provincial supports to help assist in the suppression of violence associated to this ongoing conflict, said Inspector Justin Thiessen, Kamloops RCMP Detachment’s Operations Officer.

In addition to local detachment resources -- which include frontline officers, TEU, General Investigations Support Team, Serious Crime Unit, Forensic Identification Services, and the Police Dog Service Unit -- the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia deployed its Uniform Gang Enforcement Team (UGET) to the city to assist with suppression and support following last week’s shooting.

During the increased presence, UGET members seized hatchets, knives, nunchakus, a makeshift spear, large amounts of drugs including suspected methamphetamine, crack cocaine, ketamine, fentanyl; and break-in instruments.

While we continue to disrupt the illegal activities of those involved in the drug trade and investigate occurrences related to the recent violence, we ask the public to please contact police with any information that may be related, and to be vigilant in reporting criminal and suspicious activity to police, said Insp. Thiessen.

Anyone with information related to the suspects, vehicle, or the ongoing investigation, is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-20995.
