File # 2024-13390

A targeted daytime shooting in a motel parking enclosure yesterday saw one person taken to hospital, as part of an ongoing crime conflict in Kamloops.

On Monday May 6, 2024, just before 7 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to the area of Pemberton Terrace and Frontage Road for a report of shots fired on the 500-block of Columbia Street. As part of the investigation, police located a man with visible injuries and a vehicle damaged by gunfire. The man was transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. A silver car was observed fleeing the scene.

This latest incident is believed to be a result of the ongoing conflict between local drug traffickers, which was also responsible for a series of targeted shootings reported this weekend, said Staff Sergeant Todd Wiebe, of the Kamloops RCMP Detachment’s Investigative Services Section.
