Man arrested in vehicle theft investigation

A Kelowna man is in custody after a stolen truck, followed by a police dog track, led officers to a theft suspect in Lac Du Bois.

On Oct. 18, 2023, around 10:05 p.m., Kamloops RCMP Detachment frontline officers received a report of a stolen green truck on Notre Dame Drive. Police followed the truck from 8th Street to Lac Du Bois Road, and with the assistance of the Police Dog Service Unit, located and arrested a suspect nearby.

The suspect is known to police and is being held in-custody, with charge recommendations put forth for consideration as part of the assessment and approval process, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.

The 32-year-old Kelowna man is expected to appear in court later today. Anyone who has information that may be related to this investigation is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-37714.
