A man is facing four charges after police responded to a suspicious vehicle report.

On April 15, 2023, around 9 a.m., Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment responded to Pinantan Pritchard Road in response to a call for service, which involved an occupied truck parked roadside with no license plates.

When the officer arrived, his investigation led him to believe the vehicle was stolen and three people present were detained, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson. As the investigation progressed, a firearm was also located and a man was arrested for related offences.

The two other people were released and the man was held in custody for a bail hearing. He was remanded until April 25, then released with conditions.

Zachariah William Lewis, age 29, of Chase, is charged with one count each of: carry a firearm in a careless manner; carry a concealed weapon, possess a prohibited firearm, and possession of a stolen truck. His next appearance date is scheduled for May 11.
