File # 2023-11551
The cause of a residential fire on Seymour Street has been deemed undeterminable at this time, despite a current police presence at the address.
On April 6, 2023, around 5 a.m., Kamloops RCMP Detachment frontline officers attended the 900-block of Seymour Street for a residential fire. Kamloops Fire Rescue extinguished the fire and confirmed no one was inside.
A subsequent investigation conducted by police and fire investigators concluded the fire’s cause as undeterminable at this time,
said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.
On Friday April 7, 2023, a police presence re-emerged at the address, but was unrelated to the fire investigation.
Currently, officers continue to secure the residence while members of the Southeast District Major Crime Unit advance a separate investigation associated to that address,
said Cpl. James Grandy, a BC RCMP spokesperson.
To protect the integrity of that investigation, no additional details are available for release at this time.
Anyone with information they think may be related to either investigation is encouraged to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 or the RCMP Tip Line at 1-877-987-8477.
