File # 2023-7258

Traffic on the Overlander Bridge has resumed its normal pace following a three-vehicle collision that caused its closure earlier this afternoon.

On March 3, 2023, around 1 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to the area of the bridge near Victoria Street West, where a southbound Honda collided head-on with a northbound Tesla, causing a secondary crash with a Mazda.

Two people were taken to hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries.

The Overlander Bridge was closed briefly, before its southbound lanes were reopened, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. All lanes are now back to normal and traffic is flowing at its regular pace.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Anyone who witnessed or captured video related is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-7258.
