Update: North Shore assault with a weapon investigation ongoing

A man is in the hospital with serious injuries following a large police response to Bossert Avenue earlier today.

On Jan. 31, 2023, around 11:35 a.m., multiple Kamloops RCMP frontline officers attended an address on the 2300-block of Bossert Avenue where a man was located with serious injuries and transported to hospital by ambulance; he is expected to survive.

A reduced police presence remains in the neighbourhood as part of the ongoing investigation, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. As people start to get home from work we ask that they please review their home security and dash cam footage to see if anything was captured that could be related to this incident.

North Shore investigation – please avoid the area

A large police presence is visible on Bossert Avenue as officers respond to a weapons assault report.

On Jan. 31, 2023, around 11:35 a.m., multiple Kamloops RCMP frontline officers attended an address on the 2300-block of Bossert Avenue where a person was located with injuries, the extent of which are currently unknown. The person was transported to hospital by ambulance.

The public is asked to please avoid the area while police are on scene conducting the investigation. Anyone who witnessed or has information related to this incident, including cellphone photos or videos, is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-3687.
