File # 2023-1172

A man was taken to hospital and another was arrested after police were called to an address on the North Shore last night.

On Tuesday Jan. 10, 2023, at approximately 7:45 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to the 600-block of Fortune Drive for a report involving a break and enter, followed by an assault.

The physical altercation appears to have started inside a residence and worked its way outside, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. The investigation is ongoing and includes collecting evidence related to the actions of both parties involved.

The break and enter suspect was transported by ambulance to the hospital with serious injuries, believed to be non-life threatening. The assault suspect was taken to cells and later released on conditions and a court date, pending the investigation’s conclusion and subsequent charge recommendation and assessment process.

Anyone who witnessed or recorded anything related to this incident is asked to please contact police, if they have not already done so, at 250-828-3000.
