Police presence in Sahali Saturday

A report involving an armed and barricaded person led to a large police presence on Springview Place this weekend.

On Dec. 3, 2022, around 11:45 a.m., police responded to a call involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis.

Due to the reported presence of firearms at the residence, multiple officers attended and were able to convince the person to safely exit the home, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.

The person was safely apprehended under the Mental Health Act and taken to the hospital for a medical assessment and care.
