File # 2022-43171/43196

A man with a Canada-wide arrest warrant was located in Kamloops yesterday following a report of a suspicious vehicle.

On Dec. 5, 2022, just before 7 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers attended the 700-block of Downie Street, where a vehicle had been running with its headlights on for a couple of hours. During the investigation, a man located inside the car was identified as being wanted on a warrant out of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, related to a charge for possession of property obtained by crime. He was arrested and held for court.

A search of the vehicle also led to the seizure of a loaded firearm, suspected illegal drugs, and cash, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. That investigation is ongoing and separate from the warrant execution.

Moosa Mohammad Khan, 22, of Kelowna, was scheduled to appear in court this morning for the warrant.

Anyone who witnessed or has information related to this incident is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-43171.
