The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is turning to the public to help further its investigation into an armed robbery report.

On Nov. 30, 2022, around 3:40 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were called to the Aberdeen Mall where a theft suspect deployed bear spray after he was approached by an employee. The suspect was described as a man in his 30s with short hair, a small tattoo on his upper cheek below his eye, dressed in a three-quarter length dark jacket.

As part of the investigation, officers reviewed video surveillance and identified a vehicle of interest, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. We’re asking the public to please have a look at the vehicle -- a four-door Honda Civic with damage on the front corner -- and contact us if they have seen it recently, suspect they know who it belongs to, or are in fact its owner.

Those who witnessed or have information, including video footage related to the investigation, are asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-42726.
