On Oct. 27, 2022, around 12:08 p.m., a member of the rural detachment was patrolling the area of Paul Lake Road and Cold Creek Road when he observed a black truck that had been reported as stolen. As the officer approached the truck in his police vehicle, the truck rammed the cruiser, then fled up Paul Lake Road. The officer was uninjured. The truck was recovered abandoned, but the suspects were not located.

As part of the ongoing investigation, police obtained surveillance video featuring a person of interest, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. We are releasing an image from the surveillance in hopes of furthering the investigation by having the person identified.

Anyone who recognizes the person in the image, or has information related to this investigation is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-38627.
