A visit with police could land you with some extra time on Santa’s nice list next weekend, during the annual Stuff the Cruiser collection event.

On Saturday Dec. 10, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., a team of Kamloops RCMP officers and volunteers will set up shop at The Real Canadian Superstore, 910 Columbia Street West, to accept unwrapped gifts and donations for local kids and teens.

Last year, the event helped collect two full vanloads of gifts and $1,000 in cash and gift cards that were delivered to Christmas Amalgamated to distribute into holiday hampers, said Corporal Dana Napier of the Kamloops RCMP Crime Prevention Unit.

Along with collecting donations for a great cause, the event serves as an opportunity for the public to get to know some of its community police partners and work together to help others.

Stuff the Cruiser is a great way for us to say thank you to Kamloops’ residents for all that they do, along with providing their donations safe transportation to Christmas Amalgamated and those who may need a little extra support this year, added Cpl. Napier.

Those who would like to contribute but are unable to attend the event can drop unwrapped donations off at the North Shore Community Policing Office, 915 7th St., from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed from noon to 1 p.m. For more information, call 250-376-5099.
