A woman was arrested after police responded to a report of a woman who had barricaded herself in a room and was making threats involving a firearm.

On Nov. 4, 2022, around 3:35 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers attended a residence on the 800-block of Newman Street and evacuated it, as well as a neighbouring address, as a precaution. Police made contact with the woman, who was cooperative and unarmed.

She was lodged in cells until sober, then released without process following the investigation’s conclusion.

Unfounded break and enter

2022-39737

A report of a home invasion on Ord Road Friday night turned out to be false.

On Nov. 4, 2022 around 5:20 a.m., police responded to the address where a woman stated that someone wearing a black hoodie was inside her home. A similar report was received at the same address about 12 hours earlier.

Officers attended and confirmed no home invasion had occurred. The resident was arrested and lodged in cells until sober to prevent continuation of the offence.
