The Kamloops RCMP Detachment responded to approximately 419 calls for service from midnight Friday Oct. 21, to 9 a.m. on Oct. 24, 2022. Below are some highlights from those reports.

Multi-vehicle collision

2022-37983

A three-vehicle crash on the East Trans Canada Highway Saturday afternoon has police looking for a suspect who fled the scene.

On Oct. 22, 2022, around 3:20 p.m., the Kamloops RCMP Detachment was called to the collision near Oriole Street, where a white uninsured Ford pickup truck allegedly rear-ended a vehicle, pushing it into another, then left the scene. The truck was later located, but the driver was not.

Robbery downtown

Police are investigating a robbery on Lansdowne Street Saturday night.

On Oct. 22, 2022, around 8:40 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were called to an area outside of a business where a woman was allegedly robbed at knifepoint by a suspect known to her and to police. The investigation is ongoing.

Assault with a weapon

A man was arrested after police received a report of someone who had been chased by a man with a knife.

On Sunday Oct. 23, 2022, just before 8 a.m., multiple Kamloops RCMP frontline officers attended the 1000-block of Halston Avenue in response to the report. A suspect exited an apartment shortly after and was arrested without issue; he was later released on conditions and a court date as part of the charge recommendation process.

Break and enter at a business

Police were called to a smash and grab downtown early Friday morning.

On Oct. 21, 2022, around 8:15 a.m., police attended a business on the 500-block of Lorne Street where a window had been broken and cash and electronics were stolen. No suspects were located.

Break in at construction site

A home under construction was broken into sometime this weekend.

On Oct. 21, 2022, around 7:05 a.m., Kamloops RCMP were called to a construction site on the 1300-block of Pine Crescent in which numerous tools were stolen and property was damaged.

Neighbourhood inquiries revealed sounds of a door being broken in the night, but nothing was observed. Suspect images were distributed to other officers as part of the ongoing investigation.

Assault investigation

2022-38079

A report of an alleyway assault led to a man being arrested Sunday.

On Oct. 23, 2022, around 11:15 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were called to the 90-block of Seymour Street where five to six people were in an alleyway and a man and woman were physically fighting. Police attended and located a woman with injuries. A man was arrested as part of the investigation; he was later released with conditions and a court date.
