File # 2022-34505

The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is looking for witnesses and information, after a man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries last night.

On Monday Sept. 26, 2022, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to a report of a man with stab wounds, located in a parking lot of the 700-block of Sydney Avenue. He was transported to hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.

Although it’s still early in the investigation, police believe the incident is not random, nor related to the serious stabbing on Tranquille last Monday, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. In follow up to last week’s stabbing, a suspect was identified and arrested, and charge recommendation is anticipated.

For last night’s assault, a suspect was observed leaving the scene on a mountain bike. He is described as male with a white hat, dark hair, blue jeans, and a dark jacket or hoodie.

Anyone with video surveillance, dash cam footage, or information related to this incident that could help progress the investigation, is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-34505.
