File # 2022-15462

A woman remains in custody after police were called to a commercial location for a report involving a possible firearm.

On May 10, 2022, around 6:10 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were called to the 400-block of Lansdowne Street, where a woman who appeared intoxicated was inside a store with a suspected handgun in her bag.

Police arrested the woman without incident, at which point they located a realistic looking bb-gun pistol, a knife, and drugs, all of which were seized, said Constable Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. Police checks revealed the woman was also wanted on a warrant related to numerous firearms offences.

A Kamloops woman in her 40s remains in custody for court.
