File # 2022-11424

The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is looking for witnesses after a youth was assaulted with a weapon on Friday night.

On April 8, 2022, around 9:05 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were in the parking lot of Pioneer Park when a group came running from the beach and said someone had been stabbed.

Officers attended an area and located numerous intoxicated youths, and a male with injuries consistent to being struck by a sharp object, said Constable Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.

A male was taken to the hospital by ambulance and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

According to the report, a male in a ski mask and blue shirt, as well as a Caucasian female with brown hair who was dressed in a ghillie suit, were throwing eggs at the crowd. The victim allegedly confronted the pair and was attacked. They then fled westbound.

Anyone who witnessed this incident or has information about this investigation is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-11424.
