The Kamloops RCMP Detachment responded to approximately 294 calls for service from midnight Friday Nov. 12, to 9 a.m. on Monday Nov. 15, 2021. Below are some highlights from those reports.
Police investigating assault report
The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is investigating after officers responded to an unsubstantiated report of gunfire Friday night.
On Nov. 12, 2021 around 8 p.m., frontline officers were called to Edith Lake Road after a man reported being chased by a vehicle and shot at by its occupants. Police canvassed the area and found no evidence to support the allegation.
Police later located the man who made the report, in city limits. He had a minor injury and claimed to be assaulted with a weapon. Few details were provided.

Man apprehended following parking lot confrontation
A man was taken to the hospital after he entered the police vehicle parking lot in a state of emotional distress.
On Sunday Nov. 14, 2021 around 8 p.m., a man approached a parked police vehicle inside the lot on Battle Street and began yelling at an officer, then walked into traffic.
Multiple frontline officers responded and apprehended the man under the Mental Health Act. He was taken to the hospital for a medical assessment and care. No criminal charges are being pursued.
Business break and enter in Sahali
Police are investigating following a break in at a Sahali retail store on Sunday.
On Nov. 14, 2021 around 9:45 p.m., the Kamloops RCMP received a report of an intrusion alarm at a retail store on the 500-block of Notre Dame. Upon attendance, officers observed the glass door had been smashed. At the time, it was unknown what was stolen.

Police respond to weapons call downtown
Kamloops RCMP frontline officers attended the 800-block of Victoria Street Sunday, for a report of a man who had been stabbed.
Upon arriving at the scene, police located a man with non-life threatening injuries. He was treated by ambulance and taken to the hospital.
The man was uncooperative with the investigation and few details were provided to investigators. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information related to it, is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2021-39920.
Impaired driver caught on Tranquille
A report of a man backing into a fence led to police removing an impaired driver from the roadway Sunday night.
On Nov. 14, 2021 around 8:15 p.m., frontline officers responded to a report of a grey sedan that fled on Tranquille Road after backing into a fence. Police located and stopped the vehicle shortly after. The man was allegedly belligerent, refused to provide a proper breath sample, and spat in the back of the police vehicle, leading to his arrest.
A 90-day driving prohibition and 30-day vehicle impound were also issued under the Motor Vehicle.
