Police looking for witnesses in armed robbery investigation

A suspect is in custody and a woman was taken to hospital, following an early morning report of an armed robbery and assault.

On June 8, 2021, around 7:13 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to a panic alarm at a business on the 1200-block of Summit Drive. While en route, police received an update that a person had reported being robbed and stabbed at the location. A woman was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Multiple police officers responded to the call including the Police Dog Services, General Investigation Services Team, Forensic Identification Services, and other units.

A suspect was arrested, but police are still looking for a second man believed to be involved. A truck fire reported shortly after on the 1300-block of Summit Drive may also be connected.

Police are asking anyone who saw, heard, or captured video footage that may be related to
the robbery or truck fire to please contact police as soon as possible,
said Inspector Jeff Pelley, Officer in Charge of Operations, Kamloops RCMP. Addressing this kind of violence and crime remains a top priority for us and we’re asking for the public’s help in continuing to move this investigation forward.

The suspects were described as Caucasian men on bicycles; one was wearing a long green camo jacket and dark pants; the other was in dark clothing.

Police investigating armed robbery and assault

The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is looking for witnesses following an early morning armed robbery report which saw one person taken to hospital.

On June 8, 2021, around 7:13 a.m., frontline officers responded to a panic alarm at a business on the 1200-block of Summit Drive. While en route, police were updated that a person had reported being robbed and injured at that location.

Multiple police officers responded including Police Dog Services, General Investigation Services Team, Street Enforcement, and other units. The public is asked to please avoid areas where police are searching.

Anyone who saw anything or has any information related to this investigation is asked to please contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2021-18916.
