The Kamloops RCMP Detachment responded to approximately 355 calls for service from midnight Friday March 26, to 9 a.m. on Monday March 29, 2021. Below are some highlights from those calls.
Man arrested following assault report
A 30-year-old Kamloops man was arrested Friday morning after police received a report of an assault.
On March 26, just before 6 a.m., the Kamloops RCMP Detachment was contacted about the assault, which allegedly occurred at an address on the 3000-block of Bank Road.
Police attended the suspect’s address and arrested him without incident. He was released with a court date, pending the investigation’s conclusion.
Saturday assault with a weapon file leads to arrest
A Saturday assault report led to a teenager being arrested this weekend.
On March 27, around 12:30 hours, Kamloops RCMP responded to a report of an assault involving a rock that was allegedly thrown at a person on the 1500-block of Versatile Drive.
Police located the suspect, who was arrested and released with a court date related to potential charges, which may be recommended once the investigation is complete.
Hatchet seized during weapon’s complaint
A report of someone yelling,
put the weapon down brought police to an address on Beachmount Crescent early Sunday morning.
Just after midnight on March 28, Kamloops RCMP responded to a report of a disturbance involving weapons on the 2000-block of Beachmount Crescent. Police located and detained a group of people in a vehicle, who were attempting to leave a residence. A hatchet was discovered on the front lawn, but parties present denied any ownership. It was seized by police.
An investigation revealed a consensual fight had occurred and that no firearm had been presented.
Man arrested on unendorsed warrant
A call about an unwanted person ended with a wanted man being arrested.
On March 26, around 9 a.m., Kamloops RCMP received a report of an unwanted person in front of a business on the 2100-block of East Trans Canada Highway. Upon attending, police located a man wanted on a warrant out of Cranbrook.
Stacey Dean Willard, 45, was arrested and released with a May court date.
