File # 2019-4436

One of Kamloops’s most wanted has been arrested, thanks to assistance from the Vancouver Police Department.

Robert James Rennie, 33, was arrested by Vancouver Police Department following a traffic stop on March 1, around 2:20 a.m. He was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant out of Kamloops for armed robbery, assault with a weapon, and forcible confinement, stemming from a 2019-Valentine’s Day investigation involving four victims.

Rennie was one of three men arrested by Kamloops police as part of the investigation. The other two arrested, Michael Mathieson and Justin Daniels, have since been sentenced; Mathieson to 6.5 years in prison, Daniel to 7.5 years. Rennie, who had obtained bail following his arrest, fled from a halfway house in April 2020. He had been on the run since.

He remains in custody with his next court appearance scheduled for March 11.
