Coquitlam RCMP launches new three-year Strategic Plan

2023-05-26 08:32 PDT

Coquitlam RCMP has created a new Strategic Plan with four proprieties to help guide operations for the next three years.

Coquitlam RCMP uniquely encompasses five communities which include Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Anmore, Belcarra, and kʷikʷəƛ̓əm First Nation. Coquitlam RCMP police officers and support staff are dedicated to keeping these communities safe. Which leads into our foundational priority for our plan: our people. To be effective in moving towards our goals in our strategic plan we rely on the skills, experience, knowledge and dedication of everyone at the detachment.

"Coquitlam RCMP works closely with our communities to keep our residents, businesses and visitors safe," said Superintendent Keith Bramhill. "This plan reinforces that commitment through strategies that will promote public safety and ensure priorities and resources are allocated where they will make the greatest impact."

The strategic plan forms the foundational building blocks of the Coquitlam RCMP planning process for the next three years. Part of this process included consulting with stakeholders to ensure the plan fairly represents and reflects the diverse landscape of our communities.

Through that consultative process, Coquitlam RCMP engaged with numerous community stakeholders and the public whose feedback informed and guided the formation of four Strategic Priorities. Those priorities are areas of focus that will serve to define the vision for the work and initiatives undertaken by Coquitlam RCMP over the next five years. The four Coquitlam RCMP strategic priorities are:

  1. Partner with the Community
  2. Promote Public Safety
  3. Target Criminal Activity
  4. Support our People

We are committed to the RCMP’s core values and this plan serves as a promise to our detachment members, employees, volunteers and our community, that our initiatives, no matter what the scope, is centered around our Vision and Goal of making our communities safe, said Superintendent Keith Bramhill.

The approved 2023 – 2026 Coquitlam RCMP strategic plan is available on the Coquitlam RCMP website.
