Burnaby RCMP seeks dash-cam video, witnesses after an overnight collision that has left one person in critical condition.

Just before 1:30 a.m., on March 3, 2024, Burnaby RCMP frontline officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Imperial Street just east of Willingdon Avenue. A vehicle, occupied by a driver and two passengers, was travelling eastbound on Imperial Avenue when it struck a parked semi truck.

One passenger has been transported to the hospital with serious injuries and is in critical condition. A second passenger was brought to hospital with minor injuries.

Burnaby RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) has assumed conduct of the investigation with the assistance of the Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS).

Impairment is believed to be a factor in the collision.

If you were in the area and have dash-cam video, please contact our investigators, said Cpl Mike Kalanj with Burnaby RCMP. We are looking for any information leading up to and including the collision.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or may have video in the area of Imperial Street and Willingdon Avenue between 1:00 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 3, is asked to contact Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999 and quote file 2024-7300.
