Update: Pedestrian involved in weekend collision has died, Burnaby RCMP continue to look for witnesses

On December 11, 2020, Burnaby RCMP released information regarding a report that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Imperial Street and Sussex Avenue.

The 81-year-old pedestrian has since died in hospital.

Burnaby RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team continue to investigate and are asking anyone who may have witnessed this collision or potentially have dash cam video in the area when the collision took place to please contact the Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999 or if you wish to remain anonymous contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Once again, we are asking drivers and pedestrians to take extra precaution this time of year. Says Corporal Mike Kalanj of the Burnaby RCMP. Visibility can be poor at all times of the day, please be alert.
