Burnaby RCMP’s Investigative Support Team continues to investigate a shooting.

On Saturday, May 30, 2020 at around 2:15 a.m., Burnaby RCMP Frontline officers responded to the area of Austin Road and Lougheed Highway for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival at the scene, officers located an uninjured 17 year-old man who advised he had been shot at while driving.

It is believed this shooting was targeted.

Today we are asking for anyone who has a dash cam and was driving in the area of Austin Road and Lougheed Highway on Saturday morning between 2 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. to please get in contact with us.

At this point of our investigation, locating any vehicles exhibiting suspicious behaviour in the area such as speeding or driving erratically will be key evidence, says Corporal Mike Kalanj with Burnaby RCMP. Even if you think what you saw or captured on dash cam may be irrelevant we’re asking that you contact us and allow us to determine whether your information will help progress our investigation.
