Search for suspect with firearm shuts down Massey Drive

Shortly before 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, Prince George RCMP received a report of a woman in area of the 2000-block of Massey Drive who appeared to be holding a handgun.
Police officers immediately flooded the area and began to search for the woman. Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of the public, those people in Carrie Jane Grey Park and the surrounding public venues were asked to leave the area and traffic along Massey Drive was shut down for a short time. A police dog service team was called in to assist frontline police officers with the search,
states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
Police located and seized the replica firearm shortly after the initial report was made.
Investigators are still looking to speak with the suspect, who is described as:
- Approximately 5’6 in height
- Wearing blue jeans and a black hoody
- Long, died blonde hair
Police are also looking to speak with anyone who may have surveillance or dash camera footage of the suspect, or who may know who she is.
