File # 2023-18279

On Saturday, June 3, 2023, just before 6:00 p.m., Prince George RCMP began investigating a report of a stolen vehicle that was sighted on Chief Lake Road heading towards Fort St. James.

Police officers located the vehicle travelling on the Tear Drop Forest Service Road, where the driver attempted to flee from police. The RCMP helicopter, Air 3, assisted in the investigation by tracking the vehicle, allowing police officers on the ground to set up a spike belt.

The driver attempted to avoid the spike belt and proceeded to get stuck in a nearby field, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP. Though the driver of the vehicle tried to flee on foot, both he and the passenger were quickly arrested by police officers. The two occupants of the vehicle, identified as Clayton Angus Middlemiss and Taylor Madison Dodd, are known to police.

The B.C. Prosecution Service has approved the following charges:

Clayton Angus Middlemiss

Taylor Maddison Dodd

Clayton Middlemiss was also wanted on nine outstanding arrest warrants at the time of his arrest. Both suspects will remain in custody until their next court appearance.
