Police looking for witnesses to fatal motor vehicle incident

At approximately 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 26, 2022, Prince George RCMP attended a motor vehicle incident on the John Hart Highway at Weisbrod Road. Investigators have since determined that a blue Pontiac Torrent crossed the centre median and collided with a logging truck.

The driver of the Pontiac Torrent did not survive the incident, while the single passenger was transported to hospital in critical condition. The driver of the logging truck was not seriously injured. Police closed the highway for several hours while an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist attended to gather evidence from the area, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

To further the investigation, police are looking to speak with any witnesses to this incident that were not spoken to on Monday night. Investigators are also asking that if anyone has dash cam footage of the incident, they call the non-emergency line at 250-561-3300 to speak with an investigator.
