File # 2021-3039

Emergency crews have reopened traffic on Ospika Boulevard following this morning’s accident between Range Road and Davis Road.

Investigators have determined that the vehicle heading northbound on Ospika Boulevard lost control coming out of a bend in the road and crossed the centre meridian, entering into southbound traffic where they collided with an oncoming vehicle.

Emergency crews transported both drivers to the University Hospital of Northern B.C. The driver of the first vehicle has since been air lifted to Vancouver General Hospital for further treatment. The driver of the second vehicle received treatment and was released from hospital this afternoon.

It is unknown at this time what all the causal factors are in this incident, states Cst. Jennifer Cooper of the Prince George RCMP. Mechanical data will be collected from both vehicles to aid investigators in making their determination.
