File # 21-2130

At shortly after 5:30 p.m. on January 18, 2021, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a missing person in the West Lake area.

The caller advised frontline members that she and her 83-year-old husband were out for a walk but she lost sight of him. She searched the area and neighbours had come to help but they could not locate the man. As night was beginning to fall there was increasing concern for his wellbeing and his safety.

Frontline members and Police Dog Services attended the area and quickly began a search from the man’s last known location. The Police Dog Services team located the elderly gentleman in the bush and brought him to safety. The male was assessed on-scene by Emergency Health Services, who determined he was unharmed.

The Prince George RCMP are proud of the quick response by frontline members and the Police Dog Services team. Their efforts ensured this story ended well for all of those involved, says Cst. Jennifer Cooper.
