File # 2022-5733

On March 3rd, 2022 at around 5 p.m., a 13-year old Richmond girl walking in the 3700 block of Broadway Street near the Steveston United Church was approached by suspicious man driving a dark coloured vehicle.

It is alleged that this man appeared friendly and offered her a ride, which was refused. The man then offered money as an enticement for a ride which was also rightly refused. When the teen arrived at home, she immediately notified her mother. It was then that we became actively involved, launching our investigation says Corporal Dennis Hwang.

The Richmond RCMP would like to remind the community to continue educating your family members about strangers, trusting your inner voice, and reporting any suspicious activities to police immediately adds Cpl. Hwang.

Anyone with information on this incident, is urged to contact the Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212 and quote file #2022-5733 or should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
