Richmond RCMP are pleased to be hosting the 7th annual Richmond RCMP Toy Drive tomorrow in support of the Richmond Christmas Fund, another program of Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives. The Toy Drive is spearheaded by the Richmond RCMP Community Engagement Team (CET).

Each year the Richmond RCMP Community Engagement Team works hard to increase the donations for this worthy cause. As fundraising efforts got underway in the fall, Chief Superintendent (C/Supt.) Ng issued a challenge to CET;: If a new community sponsor stepped forward with a large donation he would climb into a dunk tank.

Thanks to a generous $ 10,000.00 donation from a community sponsor, C/Supt. Ng will be getting wet on what will likely be a cold November morning.

We want to thank the donor as well as all of those in the community who have already or will be donating in support of this years Toy Drive, says Inspector Michael Cohee, Officer-in-charge of Operations Support.

In regards to C/Supt. Ng’s willingness to climb into a dunk tank in November, Inspector Cohee says This perfectly reflects Will’s level of commitment to the community he serves. Like all of our officers, he wants to ensure that no child or family go without this holiday season.

C/Supt. Ng Will be in the dunk tank between 10:00 and 10:30 am. All in the name of charity, Richmond Mayor, Malcolm Brodie, has graciously agreed to be the first in-line to try and dunk C/Supt. Ng.

he Richmond RCMP Toy Drive will take place November 20, 2021 in the parking lot of Lansdowne Centre located at 5300 No 3 Rd between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm. Find us in the parking lot next to the Canada Line.

Please come out and help us stuff the squad car with a new, unwrapped toy or make a minimum $ 10.00 donation and receive a bag of mini-donuts in return. There will also be coffee from McDonald’s and gummy-filled gift bags courtesy of Herbaland.
